The School of Social Work does not have a career services office, however personalized assistance is available from the University of Connecticut Career Services Department at the main campus in Storrs. UConn Career Services/Resources for Students and Alumni

Job Search Preparation Guide is a job search guide for students. Contains information on creating your resume, writing job search letters, conducting a job search and interviewing.

HuskyCareerLink is a web based recuiting system, managed by the UConn, Storrs Career Services department and available to matriculated students and alumni. Students interested in participating in on-campus interviews at the Storrs campus only and/or viewing electronic job postings MUST register in HuskyCareerLink and utilize the system to view job openings, apply for positions, and sign up for interview times.

Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. – Room 203

Employment Outlook & Resource Workshop for MSW Students. Mark A. Stankiewicz, MBA, Operations Coordinator, Connecticut Department of Labor, Office of Research will provide MSW students with an overview of social work employment outlook and the Office of Research's Labor Market Information website as an effective resource that offers a wide variety of electronic/print tools to assist MSW jobseekers.

March 2010 – TBA

Social Workers' Network provides a great opportunity for students to meet with community agencies for possible employment and/or field placement opportunities. Students are encouraged to bring their resumes. Professional social work associations are also onsite to share information with students.

March 26, 2010 from 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Zachs Community Room

Social Work Career Planning Program held immediately following the March field advising seminar for all graduate social work students. This program is not mandatory for students to attend, but is highly recommended. Students in field and potential graduates are encouraged to attend. A diverse panel of social workers share valuable information about what students should expect as they enter the social work profession. Find out what is currently happening in the are of social work, some strategies for securing a job, and the salary in the social work field. Students will also have the opportunity to ask panelists questions.
