Masters Program Admission

Applying

The School of Social Work offers prospective applicants the option to complete and submit their application online or by mail. This checklist page with its links to specific information and instructions will assist you in processing your application. The Admissions Committee will consider your application when all application materials have been received. Applicants are responsible for the timely completion of their application.

  1. Verify the Deadlines for applying to the program.
  2. Request an official transcript from each college or university you have attended.
  3. Request three letters of recommendation.
  4. Compose and print your Personal Statement of Purpose.
  5. Download and complete the Residence Affidavit. Without this affidavit you cannot qualify for in-state or regional tuition rates.
    • International students do not need to complete this step.
  6. International Students: download and complete the Financial Declaration.
  7. Online Application
    • The on-line application process requires that all documents, excluding the application and fee, be completed and returned as a single packet. The $55 application fee must be paid by credit card (MasterCard, VISA, etc.).
    • Advanced Standing applicants are admitted for the summer term only and when applying online must enter an admission term of summer 2010. Regular MSW students are admitted for the fall term only and when applying online must enter an admission term of fall 2010.
  8. All documents should be mailed to this address:

  9. Request your standardized test scores to be submitted to the University of Connecticut. The code for UConn (Storrs/West Hartford) is 3915. May include the GRE (not required for the School of Social Work) and the English Proficiency Test(s) (international)
